StarTalk Radio: The Era of Podcasts

The popularity of podcasts has risen to exponential levels in recent times. Whether it be the ease of which they can be accessed or the relaxed, informal yet informative setting they seem to create; several podcasts have become an integral part of our daily lives. Every week, we will take a look at podcasts from the world over to help you find the podcast that is perfect for you. This week, it’s StartTalk Radio with Neil deGrasse Tyson.

What is StarTalk Radio?

StarTalk Radio and Neil de Grasse Tyson has become somewhat of a cult figure in modern-day pop culture. The world’s most recognized Astrophysicist has made starring roles in popular TV shows such as The Simpsons, Futurama with even a couple of cameo roles on the big screen including ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ & ‘Zoolander 2’.

Now the pop culture icon has turned his attention to StarTalk Radio, a weekly episodic podcast/radio show that discusses trending topics within the science community with previous episodes focusing on neuroscience, space exploration and what life could exist beyond our planet!

Complicated Scientific Ideas Explained Simply

Don’t let daunting topics like astrophysics or interstellar-space travel put you off. Neil deGrasse Tyson has always had a fantastic way of being able to break down the complicated and educate the masses in simplistic ways that are easy to understand for all of us.

Be sure not to miss his regular show, ‘Cosmic Queries’, a dedicated show to the fans that take on questions from the audience on the topic of each episode.

Away from the world of science, StarTalk radio regularly hosts guests from mainstream celebritism including Tenacious D front-man, Jack Black (Season 10, episode 23), where they discussed Black Hole theories and the quantum relativity. Don’t fret, it’s mostly in relation to the Quantum Universe in Marvels, Avengers.

StartTalk Radio previous guests have also included the previous host of the Comedy Central Show ‘The Opposition’, Jordan Klepper (Season 10, episode 25); Hollywood A-Lister Whoopie Goldberg (Season 9, Episode 11) and one that gives a true insight into the mind that created the modern-day HBO hit series Game of Thrones, George R.R Martin (Season 10, episode 20).
