Christmas is about togetherness with the family, sharing the unadulterated love and affection we all want. For those who have families to spend time with or the ones who find themselves away from their loved ones, here are three films opening around Christmas, that appeal.
Live By Night
Set in the 1920s this star-studded film starring Ben Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Chris Cooper, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Messina, and Elle Fanning is about a bootlegger played by Ben Affleck and sounds like an exciting thriller. Ben Affleck not only turns a bootlegger but to add to the excitement escapes with the mafia money and the mafia boss’ woman.
Why Him
Some of us might identify with this one, featuring Bryan Cranston, James Franco, and Zoey Deutch. Zoey Deutch who plays the role of Stephanie is at Stanford University has established a relationship with James Franco who plays the character of Laird. Laird is not only a non-conformist but is full of colorful language and wants to marry Stephanie. Enter the possessive and overprotective father Bryan Cranston named Ned in the movie and the excitement begins.
Toni Erdmann
Here’s a comedy expected to do well. The film is about an unwilling daughter played by Sandra Huller who must spend a while with her father played by Peter Simonschek, from whom she’s been estranged and he comes for an unexpected visit. This is another movie slated to be doing well at the box office.
Enjoy.
