The best cities for students

By itself Finland just over 5.5 million people resulting in most of the cities being quite sparsely populated. All of these have a population between 100,000 to a quarter of a million.

As we had mentioned in our last article the fees for those outside the EEA and EU is fairly high. However, to encourage foreign students Finland offers reasonably good scholarships most especially to those who wish to study at their universities of applied sciences. The previous article also informs you about the possibilities of working and studying in the country.

During your spare time, in addition to spending it with your acquaintances and friends there are always mountain sports available. Some of the other interesting things you could do here are meeting reindeer, spending time on the beaches in the summer, get in touch with nature, visit carnivals and actually dig for Amethyst.

The mine, in Lampivaara goes back 200 million years and many hike to this mine or travel by snowmobile. Not only are you allowed to dig for Amethyst but also keep what you find so long as it is smaller than the size of an average fist.
