Tip For A Trip – Where To Escape During The Heat In The Czech Republic

When the temperatures reach tropical weather highs, the best thing to do is to pack and head towards water. Here are two large water bodies you could escape to. Both on the Vltava river.

Orlik Dam is the largest dam for hydroelectric energy. The dam is named after the Orlik castle, offers a water body of 68 kilometres and the the views are magnificient. There are camps and hotels in close proximity and facilities for swimming. (Photos taken in a camp Popelíky)

Lipno Dam has a water body of 48.7 square kilometres which makes it the largest in the Czech Republic. The facilities cater to all budgets. Location : South Bohemia.
