The Finest Whodunit Movies

The following movies belong to the category of crime or mystery films where a murder happens but it is not very clear till the end, who the murderer was. Well, sharpen your senses and figure out the mystery on your own in these easy watching classics.

Murder on the Orient Express
There are movies that are remade in several versions. The film Murder on the Orient Express based on the book by Agatha Christie is one of those. And does it matter that the style might be little outdated? A brand new coat and we are back on track. The version from 2017 with the star cast will prove it to you.

Gosford Park
A unique insight into the British class system of the first half of the 20th century through one case of murder. A small number of guests is being hosted for the weekend in a posh residence. The limited number of characters allow detailed and colourful depictions through which the viewer learns not only about their lives and the society standards, but also their potential motives.

Death on the Nile
Death on the Nile is another frequently remade films and also from the pen of Agatha Christie. Hercule Poirot was one of Christie´s fictional detectives always brilliantly figuring out any unsolvable problem. As in many, in this classic the same Belgian agent solves the crime in his own charming way.

A Shot in the Dark
Here we conclude our weekend movie tips with the goofy French Inspector Clouseau with Peter Sellers in the title role. Not much to add here, only that Sellers can engage his audience with his persistent ridiculous humour even decades after the movie was made…and solve the murder too.
