This is a real story about a national hero who turned into a public enemy over the course of two days. The plot takes us back to 1996, to the Atlanta Olympic Games. During the triumphant celebration, a guard by the name of Richard Jewell, played by Paul Walter Hauser (`I, Tonya`), sounded the alarm about a suspicious package, probably an attempt to commit a terrorist act.

Even though the police reaction was to urge immediate evacuation, an explosion killed one man and injured many people, either physically or psychologically. The next day, Richard Jewell was proclaimed a national hero and then, two days later – became the primary suspect in the attack.

The script was written by journalist-investigator Marie Brenner, who was intimately familiar with the affair, and by Oscar-nominated screenplay writer Billie Ray (`The Hunger Game`, `Captain Phillips`).

The worldwide premier was in December 2019, with the official release scheduled for February 2020.

TV networks ABC and ESPN will broadcast a 10-part documentary about the extraordinarily gifted Michael Jordan, who is still regarded as the best player not only in the history of the Chicago Bulls team, but in the history of world basketball.

The initial installments of the series are expected to be released in June 2020.  The Chicago Bulls are a legendary American basketball team. In the ‘90s, they became 6-time world champions, setting a record that has not been broken.

Michael Jordan was an icon for many young players and still has a special place with the Bulls, even though he doesn`t compete anymore.

The series includes more than 100 interviews with famous politicians, stars, and high-powered figures from basketball and other sectors, including Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, Steve Kerr, Dennis Rodman, Pat Riley, Charles Barkley, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Kobe Bryant, Gary Payton, Adam Silver, Bob Costas, Barack Obama, and Justin Timberlake. The series contains rare footage, much of it never screened before.

Misbehaviour

With Keira Knightly taking a prominent role, this historical movie will show the details of the Women`s movement’s opposition which played out in 1970 during the World beauty contest in Albert-Hall, London. In 1970, the topic of women’s place in society was becoming a matter of public debate, and women from the Liberation movement fought for equal rights and recognition for all women as full-fledged personalities.

Thus, the high profile of Jennifer Hosten – played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw – who became the first dark-skinned women to win the contest. The plot discloses the serious fissures which existed in English society in the 1970s.

However, it is the style and fashion in the movie that are garnering so much attention.  Eclectic hats, clothes, and the general color ambiance express not only the era’s iconic trends, but are a powerful engine to show the mood and tone of a moment in history. The movie is coming in March 2020.

Blessed Virgin/ Benedetta

Even though work on the first episodes in this film began in 2018, the rumors and excerpts from this shocking historical drama first appeared on the web at the end of 2019, when PathéFilms and SBS Production revealed the first shots from an expected movie about a lesbian nun, based on archival facts from the book `Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun in Renaissance Italy`.

The story took place in the 17^thcentury in Italy, when Benedetta Carlini was a catholic nun who proved that she had the gift of clairvoyance from God, confirmed through painful injuries, demonstrated by the image of Christ’s crucifix on preacher`s bodies.  Then the groundbreaking popularity of the fact of her lesbian relationship with another nun undermined Benedetta’s reputation, and she was accused of being a fraud.

Cast : Charlotte Rampling (`Euphoria`, `Red Sparrow`), Virginie Efira (`Elle`, `Sibyl`), Lambert Wilson (`Suite Française`, `L’odyssée`), Clotilde Courau (`La môme`).

Directed by Paul Verhoeven, known for `Basic Instinct` and `RoboCop`, this movie is predicted to be – let’s put it mildly – frank and unforgettable.

Dark Waters

Even though this film was released last autumn, it is worth seeing for several reasons, but above all: an intense social problem unfolds in a powerful, skillfully realized plot with a great cast and crew including Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, and Anne Hathaway.

Many people were impressed by the heroic `Green Book`, where the main character took part in a risky affair in order to confirm and protect human rights for black-skinned people. It was an important movie for its time. It was an agenda.

And also, it was a huge step made against the mass, as well as the hero of Dark Waters, corporate attorney Rob Bilott, who struggles against the local chemical giant, DuPont, blaming it for damaging the environment by discharging dangerous wastes.

After several farm owners accuse DuPont’s plant of releasing chemical pollution, causing them to lose their cattle, Rob Bilott is forced to cooperate with his law firm and another partner, Tom Terp (Tim Robbins), in order to end the 15-year fight against the bureaucracy and helplessness.

Moreover, it is a sharp-edged moment for Rob and his wife Sarah, played by Anne Hathaway, as their family stands at the brink of divorce.  A complicated, interesting, exciting plot from the Focus Features film studio.
