Museum of Modern Art Internships in New York

Recent graduates of Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees are invited to join the Museum of Modern Art in New York on a remote seven-month internship. Interns will work with curators and educators, gaining experience in the museum field. The internship will take place on 8 February – 3 September 2021. The deadline is on 8 November 2020.

Museum of Modern Art unites a broad range of professionals with different backgrounds, interests, and knowledge in a goal to share great modern and contemporary art with the public. Through initiatives like Greater New York, the Elaine Dannheisser Projects Series, and the Young Architects Program, the Museum of Modern Art presents a dynamic and varied offering of some of the most thought-provoking art produced today.

Full-time, seven-month internships with stipends are offered at MoMA for recent graduates interested in pursuing or exploring a museum career. Interns will be provided focused departmental training, complemented with regular activities designed for this cohort to receive greater exposure to the museum and art fields. At this time, interns are expected to begin the program on a rotational basis between onsite and remote work. Internships provide training in specific museum fields through close work with a professional staff member, and familiarity with modern and contemporary art through seminars and discussions. Participants will receive a $19,000 stipend; health benefits are included.

The deadline is on 8 November 2020.

Main criteria:

Recent graduates of bachelor’s or master’s degree programs are eligible to apply. The Museum encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines to apply. Applicants must be authorised to work lawfully in the United States for the duration of the programme.
