2021 Dance Internship in Washington, D.C

Current students are invited to apply for an internship in the field of Arts Production and Administration. There are available positions in social media, communications, education, IT, and fundraising. 

Founded in 1980, Dance Place builds a community of artists, audiences and students through high quality performances, commissions, training and educational programs. They are committed to enriching the field of dance locally, nationally and internationally.

Dance Place’s internship program provides employment experience that has helped hundreds of individuals begin a professional career in the non-profit arts sector. Other benefits include unlimited free dance classes, tickets to virtual and offline performances and networking opportunities. Incase participants require housing, they will commit to the internship for 20-25 hours per week and work on adult dance classes on Zoom as well as participate in multiple dance place departments and programs. Non-housing internships are suited for candidates coming from the DC area. They will have a 13-15 hour-per-week commitment. Programs are available from 4 January until 16 May 2021 and from 24 May until 22 August 2021.

Main criteria

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Current college students are welcome to apply. There are several internships available in administration, communications, educational programs for youth and kids, fundraising, programming, and social media.You will need to upload four PDFs: a resume, letter of interest, letter of recommendation, and a writing sample for the position you’d like to apply for.
