Candidates wishing to conduct research in natural sciences, medicine, or engineering are invited to apply for the Matsumae International Foundation fellowship in Japan. Participants will have all their expenses covered and be able to select the their host institution. The deadline is on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) aims to develop the future by contributing to the global friendship and goodwill. Upon the concept of the founder of the MIF, “Towards A Greater Understanding of Japan and a Lasting World Peace”, MIF has started the research fellowship programme in 1980.
The best part of this fellowship is that candidates are free to select their host institution across Japan.
All scholars will get the privilege to work in the national research laboratories of Japan under the supervision of international mentors.
The scholarship covers monthly allowance for research and stay, insurance, round-trip tickets to and from Tokyo, and settle-in allowance upon arrival.
Fellowship period varies from three to six months. The areas of research include national sciences, engineering, and medicine.
The deadline is on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
Main Criteria
All international citizens are eligible to apply. Candidates should have an acceptance letter from the host institution and possess a PhD before applying for this fellowship.
Knowledge of Japanese or English is required.
