Google News Initiative Student Fellowship in Europe is now accepting applications for young European media professionals and journalists.
Open call for aspiring journalists, recent graduates, and students who are interested in joining the newsrooms in their country. Google News Initiative Student Fellowship is an initiative created to help students and recent graduates to get journalism and media experience and learn the realities of working for newsrooms. The program lasts eight weeks in the summer of 2022, during which students will be attending workshops, networking, and participating in the kick-off bootcamp.
Fellows will be guided, trained, and advised by the European Journalism Centre during the fellowship, and will be paid by their newsrooms for eight weeks of full-time work (up to €5,000).
Eligibility
The following candidates can apply:
- 18 years and older
- Enrolled or accepted to a higher education institution or have graduated in 2020-2021
- Must be from or live in the same country as the newsroom you will choose
- Legally allowed to work full-time in the country where the newsroom is based
- Countries that take part in the fellowship: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom
