Global Korea Scholarship – South Korea

South Korea, in recent years has become hugely popular with international university students not only from China, Vietnam and Japan but also Europe and the U.S. As per available figures between 2007 to 2017 there was an increase of 40 percent and the number of foreign students reached 123,000. Today, this number is considerably higher.

There are a total of 170 Scholarships for undergraduates and 700 for graduates students being awarded under the program.

Korean language is essential for an admission

It is essential for those selected that they shall undergo a one year course in Korean language at one of the designated universities. There is an exemption for those who are already fluent in Korean and have a score of above 5 at TOPIK.

 

Award

Selected candidates are awarded resettlement allowance, living allowance, medical insurance, tuition fees to the limit of 5 million KRW per semester which works out to 3732 Euros at the current rate of exchange. There are also fringe amounts towards printing costs, research support etcc
