Doctor Zhivago, Pride and Prejudice, or Romeo and Juliet. It is a well known fact that all these were based on literary works. The link connecting the films from this weekend‘s movie picks with books is the same - they are all film adaptations from books, except the literary derivations are less known in these instances.

A fantasy horror featuring stories surrounding a headless rider, directed by Tim Burton, casting Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, based on the book “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving, first published in 1820.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The bizarre story of Benjam Button, who is born old and over the years grows younger. The film stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett and is based on the story of the same title by F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1922.
Dances with Wolves
Kevin Costner as Lieutenant Dunbar, who establishes contact with the Sioux tribe during the American Civil War, based on the eponymous novel by Michael Blake, published in 1986.
Revolutionary Road
A drama tracking the lives of Frank and April Wheeler, their daily routines, weaknesses, and unfulfilled dreams. A film based on the novel of the same name by Richard Yates, published in 1961.
Minority Report
A sci-fi film starring Tom Cruise in the role of John Anderton, who is the leader of the anti-corruption unit that is able to prevent crimes by using clairvoyants and other professionals. Until he becomes himself a suspect.
A film based on a collection of science fiction stories by Philip K. Dick, published in 1991.
