Education Internships at Democracy Now!

Democracy Now! is inviting interns for paid placements with time commitment of 20 hour per week. These temporary work placements are intended to help students, people early in their careers and career changers to gain entry-level skills and experience in the fields of outreach, social media, education, fundraising, translation, archiving and IT in a non-profit setting. Application process is ongoing.

Democracy Now! produces a daily, global, independent news hour hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and Juan González. Their reporting includes breaking daily news headlines and in-depth interviews with people on the front lines of the world’s most pressing issues. On Democracy Now!, you’ll hear a diversity of voices speaking for themselves, providing a unique and sometimes provocative perspective on global events.

Democracy Now! Education Internship provides candidates with a chance to make a difference by helping educators to use Democracy Now! to teach media literacy and an understanding of the importance of independent journalism to their students. Interns will learn about the inner workings of Democracy Now!, work on outreach to the education community, and developing curriculum and lesson plans, hone their research and communications skills, and be a part of an energetic, exciting team that works each day to use alternative media to bring positive social change. The next internship will commence in January 2021 and will take place over six months.

Application process is ongoing.
