Driving Habbits – Which Side Is The Original

Left or right - which is the correct side of the road for driving, or shall we say the original one? If we go simply by the numbers alone, then it would have to be the right side which is used by a major part of the world. Neverthelees, eventhough just 35% of population drives on the left side and the practice has it has its roots in the middle ages. At that time the practicality of carrying a gun on the left side facilitated the possibility to draw the weapon with the right hand (the majority of the population was and still is right-handed). Therefore, keeping to the left side had its purpose.
