DAAD Scholarships in Germany

One of the more excellent scholarships, The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst is an organization that mainly funds students from developing countries. Each year many of these students study at the German universities thanks to this scholarship.

Minimum requirement for language

Choice of languages

To be able to apply you must have an IELTS – band 6- Certificate or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550. For those wishing to do their course in German a DSH2 or Test DaF 4 certificate is the minimum requirement.

 

Who can apply?

For development related postgraduate courses DAAD is presently considering those with 2 years working experience from specified countries.

 

Award

The award is quite good and fetches 850 to 1,200 Euros for graduates and doctoral students respectively. It also includes the necessary insurances, travel allowance and if you further qualify you receive monthly subsidy towards rent and also a monthly allowance towards the members of family who are allowed to accompany you.
