Communications Intern Seas At Risk In Brussels, Belgium

Seas At Risk is seeking a communications intern on a six-month placement. The successful candidate would ideally start working in January or February 2021. Interns will receive remuneration and public transport reimbursement. The deadline is on 6 December 2020.

What Is Happening with Communications Intern in Belgium?

Communications Intern in Belgium: Seas At Risk (SAR) is an umbrella organisation of environmental NGOs from across Europe that promotes ambitious policies for marine protection at the European and international level.

They represent 32 member organisations in 17 different European countries.

The organisation is currently working on different policy areas such as biodiversity, sustainable seafood production, plastic pollution, deep-sea mining, clean shipping, and renewable energy at sea.

Interns will assist in drafting web news, op-eds, articles, press releases, and support the launch of the SAR’s new website and its migration. Additionally, interns will manage SAR’s social media channels and provide live coverage of events and conferences.

A fixed monthly compensation of 800-1200 euros and a contribution to public transport costs will be provided. Candidates should send a motivation letter and CV to secretariat@seas-at-risk.org along with two samples of articles they have recently written.

The deadline is on 6 December 2020.

 

Main Criteria

A university degree in communications, journalism, or other relevant fields, excellent analytical and writing skills in English, and an additional EU language are required. Previous experience with WordPress, social media and design skills are considered an asset.

Previous intern or volunteering experience in a relevant sphere, particularly as writer or proofreader, and good insight into the functioning of the EU institutions are considered assets.
