The World Summit Awards invites young innovators, who developed a digital application tackling the UN SDGs, to showcase their work at the WSA Global Congress. The deadline is on 31 July 2019.
The Young Innovators World Summit Awards- Young Innovators is a special recognition for young social entrepreneurs under 26 years of age, using ICTs to take action on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Finalists will receive an invitation to the World Summit Awards Global Congress, as well as paid board and lodging, workshops with speakers, and long-term coverage within WSA editorial channels.
For the edition of the World Summit Awards 2019 for Young Innovators, the categories are:
- Government & Citizen Engagement
- Health & Well Being
- Learning & Education
- Environment & Green Energy
- Culture & Tourism
- Smart Settlements & Urbanization
- Business & Commerce
- Inclusion & Empowerment
Main criteria
Eligible for young citizens of all UN member states, the program is open to every start-up, social entrepreneur, NGO, student or individual, student group or project team – at least one of the founding members and the majority of the team must be under the age of 26 (born on or after January 1, 1993).
Once you have contacted the WSA National Expert in your country, they will go through the steps you will need to take in order to qualify for national selection with you.
Submissions for the WSA Young Innovators can contain all mobile and web-based projects, such as: apps, web pages, applications for wearables, kiosk installations, SMS based products, games and interactive productions.
