Yale Young Global Scholars emphasizes an open, exploratory, and collaborative approach to learning in a variety of different university contexts including lectures, seminars, and projects. Early decision deadline is on 12 November 2019.

The Yale Young Global Scholars Summer Program is consisted of:
- Applied Science & Engineering
- Biological & Biomedical Science
- Literature, Philosophy, & Culture
- Politics, Law, & Economics
- Solving Global Challenges
The Yale Young Global Scholars program provides two types of financial help.
Need-Based Financial Aid for students who demonstrate financial need is offered as a tuition discount of up to 100% of tuition.
Travel costs are not included in the financial aid but are included in one of the following scholarships.
YYGS-Qooco Scholarship for selected students from various countries in Asia, including Mainland China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The scholarship covers full tuition costs and related travel expenses for students to attend any of the YYGS sessions offered in 2020.
Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Alumni Scholarships will be awarded to selected students who completed the YYAS program in any summer prior to 2020.
The scholarship covers full tuition costs and related travel expenses for students to attend any of the YYGS sessions offered in 2020.
Young Leaders (YL) Scholarships will be awarded to selected students in the U.S. and internationally who self-identify as at least ONE of the following:
- Hispanic and/or Latino/Latina/Latinx
- Members of Indigenous peoples, nations, and/or communities
- Refugees
Main criteria
- Candidates must be minors of at least 16 years of age by July 19, 2020 and be able to participate in a rigorous academic curriculum conducted in English;
- As regards to the grade level, students must be a current high school sophomore or junior (or international equivalent) and be graduating in May/June 2021 or 2022 from the Northern Hemisphere, or in Nov./Dec. 2020 or 2021 from the Southern Hemisphere.
