Various Internship Programmes For Students And Researchers At CERN

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe.

Through various internship opportunities CERN allows students and young professionals to work in a diversity of fields at the cutting edge of technology.

There are currently two internships available for international applicants. The doctoral student programme will allow candidates to work on their thesis while spending up to 36 months at the forefront of science. 

You will have the opportunity to work in the following fields: applied physics, IT, mathematics, electricity, electronics, mechanical or civil engineering, and more. 

The CERN’s administrative student programme is designed for undergraduate and graduate students looking for a practical period or a place to complete their final project. Interns will spend two to 12 months at CERN in Geneva. 

Students will be able to work in a variety of fields including translation, human resources, advanced secretarial work, business administration, law, and more.

Main Criteria

Candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.

For the doctoral internship, it’s imperative for the applicant to have started or to be about to start a doctoral programme.

For administrative internship, you should have completed at least 18 months of your undergraduate studies (Bachelor or Master’s) specialising in an administrative by December 2021.
