Current university students and recent graduates interested in communications and public relations are invited to join United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) on a twelve-month paid traineeship. Participants will receive a CHF 700 monthly stipend. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is an autonomous body within the United Nations that was established in 1965.
UNITAR’s mission is to develop the individual, institutional and organisational capacities of countries and other United Nations stakeholders through high quality learning solutions and related knowledge products and services.
The trainee will perform the social media and website development function, supporting execution of the communications strategy.
Trainees will translate vision into actionable objectives and organise projects. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of Google Analytics, Hootsuite, WordPress, and project management tool Asana.

Main Criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate/postgraduate degree.
- Recent graduates with qualifications in marketing, PR, or commuications are also eligible.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an asset.
