Arab youth is invited to take part in UNESCO training on education for sustainable development and green technical and vocational education. The training will be held virtually in September 2020. The deadline to apply is on 16 August 2020.
UNESCO Online Leadership Training is part of the new Platform “Education for sustainable development for 2030”. Held in collaboration with UNESCO Beirut, the program seeks to scale up the youth leadership response facing the COVID-19 impacts on the world in general and the Arab region in specific.
The program seeks to focus on the empowerment and leadership of youth in the Arab region through the three main pillars. These are development and implementation of capacity-building framework for youth leaders, follow-up and mentorship with the trained youth for implementation of local initiatives, and establishment of youth-led network. Selected applicants who successfully complete the Training Course will be provided with a Certificate of Participation from UNESCO, and will be eligible to apply for membership in the UNESCO ESD Youth Network and Green TVET Youth Network.
The deadline is on 16 August 2020.
Main criteria
- Eligible candidates should be 18-35 years of age
- They should demonstrate active engagement in ESD or in Green TVET as an educator, trainer, member of a non-governmental organization, private sector professional, policy maker, researcher, student or in any other relevant capacity
- Sufficient English skills and availability for the whole duration of the program are required
- Candidates should be from one of these countries of the Arab region: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen
