UNESCO/APCEIU III Youth Leadership Workshop On GCED

This year the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) will organize the III Youth Leadership Workshop on Global Citizenship Education (GCED). The event will take place on 28 May - 3 June 2017 in Jeju, South Korea. The deadline for applications is April 7, 2017 (KST 09:00).

This five-day workshop aims to develop the capacities of dynamic youth leaders on GCED, engage them in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and foster global citizenship through education. While enabling participants to deepen their understanding of GCED, the workshop allows the young leaders to play a major role and become part of a wider network of youth leaders for GCED.

During the workshop, participants will identify specific priority issues relating to GCED and will establish plans for the future direction of GCED. Working both individually and in groups, the young leaders will devise goals and strategies for use at local and national levels. Participants will also engage in information sessions to support them in this task, in areas such as ‘Deepening the Understanding of GCED’ and ‘GCED Youth Advocacy Tools.’ As part of the workshop, participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to the “Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity” by participating in a concurrent session to discuss the role of youth in GCED.

  • Be citizens of one of the Official Development Aid Recipient Countries;
  • Be aged between 18 and 24 years;
