One of the major things that COVID-19 introduced to the world was remote work. The pandemic forced companies all over the globe to send their employees home to work virtually, remote work had a big moment. According to Buffer’s 2021 State of Remote Work Survey, most of the remote workers (97.6%) would like to work remotely at least some of the time for the rest of their career life, while 97% of remote workers would recommend remote work to others.
Employees have always loved the idea of working from home, but the opportunity and resources weren’t available for most organizations. Before the pandemic, only five percent of jobs could be done remotely, but now remote working is a necessity and a reality. Remote jobs are on the rise, companies have finally understood it has come to stay and this is reflected in the various titles created at the workplace, showing commitment and acceptance from companies.
Thanks to ever-evolving technologies like Microsoft Teams, Skype, Slack, Zoom, Google Hangouts, authenticator apps, and cloud computing. An individual doesn’t need to be in an office full time to be a productive member of a company. Many types of jobs can be done just as effectively, if not more so, from a home office. As appealing as remote work is to employees, employers also recognize the benefits from their side of the desk such as lower organizational cost, reduced turnover, etc. This year over 30 companies had a high volume of work-from-home jobs with no location restrictions and with a healthy mix of industries including finance, marketing, medicine, education, and IT. Consider these seven well-paying and in-demand options for work-from-anywhere jobs.
Translator or Interpreter
If you’re fluent in more than one language, you could use those skills to work remotely as an interpreter or translator. As an interpreter, you could convert or explain spoken words from one language to another and as a translator, you could convert written information from one language to another.
Data Analyst
Data analysts collect, clean, and interpret data to help organizations make better business decisions. The daily tasks and responsibilities of a data analyst are to analyze data results using statistical techniques, develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality in an organization. The role tends to be computer-based and well-suited for remote work.

They often manage their client’s entire online presence, including their website, search engine rankings, blog, social media accounts, and advertising strategy. They also develop or create content, decide on the appropriate placement of ads, and implement email marketing campaigns. They can work remotely from any location that has internet access. This role falls in the cybersecurity field, the demand for cybersecurity skills has created nearly half a million job openings in the United States alone in 2021. An information security analyst takes an active role in protecting an organization’s data, computers, and networks from cyberattacks and data breaches. They actively monitor networks for potential threats, install software that protects from online vulnerabilities, and document breaches, report issues so they can be adequately handled, and maintain security standards. Cybersecurity has become even more critical as more people work from home in this era.
Sales Consultant
Sales consultants examine a company’s sales techniques and make suggestions for improvement, they also devise strategies for promoting and selling products or services. They serve as the middleman between businesses and their customers, recommending products and services while ensuring customer requirements are met. They also design training programs for sales representatives and develop a method for finding potential customers. Many organizations hire remote sales consultants, especially if they work within a niche market that requires special expertise.
With millions of people experiencing remote work for the first time due to the pandemic in various industries we realize the work environment will forever be altered with new tools, practices, mindsets, and work cultures all over the world.
