His artwork is psychedelic, dizzy, colorful, and explicit; and it gently explores the depths of intimacy. Known to many people as Phazed, Jean Francois Painchaud is a Canadian digital artist and animator whose fame was launched after being banned on Facebook.
This wouldn’t be the only time that his pictures and particularly his erotic, psychedelic GIFs were taken off Facebook, even after they were censored. Despite all of that, he has continued to pursue his vision and tell his story with amazing digital art. According to him, the psychedelic experiences he has left a significant impact on not just his art, but his life as well.
Painchaud studied game development for a year, then animation for another year and then conceptual art for one more year. His aim was to gain necessary skills, and learn what tools he could use to express his ideas rather than getting a degree. In addition to that, random YouTube exploration led him to a video that shows how to do animations using Photoshop. It turned out to be a lot of fun and resulted in well-known GIFs all over the internet.
This aspiring artist hopes that people might be able to switch from the culture of rigid censorship to open-mindedness.
