The demand for skills in various sectors has been there for ages but in recent times the hastening of digitalization across all industries during the pandemic has made the search for certain skills more relevant and intense than others. Among these fields, Information Technology and emerging technology fields require these skills the most.

Many industries seriously fear that they could lose their competitive advantage in the market in the coming years. The digital transformation is changing our world dramatically and fast. Not only in the professional world but our personal lives are also influenced. Completely new industries and job requirements are emerging.

According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report, 50% of all employees will need to reskill by 2025 as the adoption of technology increases. New technology is being birthed by the minute, making old ways of doing things irrelevant, which makes professionals, students, and the everyday person keep learning, relearning, and unlearning. Emerging technologies is changing and disrupting e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, especially the world of work, and pushing the workforce towards the need to acquire new in-demand skills to adjust to future jobs, not only is it changing the way things are done, but it is also creating new roles, and responsibilities to drive efficiency, profitability and optimize resources.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, in recent times, have become a buzzword across the globe. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning are in high demand in this 21st century. The We Forum 2020 report estimates, “that by 2025, 85 million jobs may be displaced by automation, while 97 million new roles may emerge that are more adapted to the new division of labor between humans, machines and algorithms”

This means everyone from students to senior professionals, to executive leaders will have to upgrade to become conversant with AI innovations and ML products. These innovations, and products are present everywhere. In our personal lives Siri, Alexa, Cortana are live in action, in the health care, education system, etc, these technologies have been integrated into everything we do

In this era, data is currently the new oil. As the amount of data continues to grow, the range of applications for AI is becoming broader and deeper. It has become a general approach to solving a lot of problems in many industries. There are several AI and MI products making lives easy, from self-driving cars, to smart assistants, to virtual travel booking agents, to disease mapping software, the list is endless and they are constantly merging.
