Citizens of selected African countries are invited to participate in the data science intensive programme. Candidates should have a university-level degree in a STEM field. Finalists will receive a full scholarship to attend an in-person workshop in Cape Town, South Africa. The deadline is on Thursday 30th September 2021.
The Africa Data Science Intensive (DSI) programme is a hands-on skills training data science course based on solving real-world problems.
As part of the programme, participants will master the data science process including statistics and data wrangling, to advanced topics like machine learning and data storytelling, by working on real projects.
The course comprises of a nine-week online training and a two-week workshop in Cape Town, South Africa. Provisional dates for the workshop are January-May 2022.
Full awards covering tuition for the complete course and travel and living expenses to attend the two-week workshop are available for qualifying African students. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview. Placements will be available starting from December 2021.

Main Criteria
Candidates should have an Honours, Master’s or PhD in Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent industry experience.
As part of the registration, candidates should provide a short CV and complete an online test. Applications for scholarships will only be accepted from students in the following countries: South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zambia.
