Girls Coding Kosova is one of the latest initiative coming up from Kosovo. The group have the aim to gather women excited about programming.
Girls Coding Kosova aims at encouraging women reach full academic and professional potential in technical fields. They host a workshop organized jointly with Open Data Kosovo and UNDP Kosovo.
They organize different events that would stimulate the development of leadership and careers for women in the traditionally male controlled field of technology. Through their workshops they hope to create a community of educated, ambitious women and female coders.
The workshops include system design and architecture for API development, getting familiar with the Terminal and installing various dev utilities such as Git, Introduction to NoSQL with MongoDB’s document based database solution and many other activities. Each participant is provided with food, drinks and even hoodies, and at the end of the event receives a certificate.
