So you want to come to the Youth Global Forum in Amsterdam this year? Well the road to the Netherlands begins with submitting your application. However with hundreds of applications being submitted every year, how will you be able to ensure yours stands head and shoulders above the rest? We’ve enlisted the help from some of the most influential people in history to help you on your way to the fifth annual Youth Global Forum in 2019.
Tips for Successfully Applying to the Youth Global Forum in Amsterdam
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde
You should never try to be someone you’re not when applying. The Youth Global Forum is looking for young people that are innovative, talented but most importantly unique.
And who could be more unique than you? We not only welcome diversity but we celebrate it!
“In displaying the psychology of your characters, minute particulars are essential. God save us from vague generalizations!” – Anton Chekhov
Be specific and leave no stone unturned. There is no such thing as ‘too much’ information. This advice hold even more significance for those of you who will be applying as a project presenter.
Spare no details, be precise and clear with your application to give yourself the best chance possible of being selected!
We wound our modesty and make foul the clearness of our deserving when of ourselves we publish them. – William Shakespeare
Your resume will speak more about yourself than an infinite amount of superlatives could ever do. Your qualifications and achievements will highlight themselves, instead try to focus your words on telling us about you; your ambitions, your goals and what motivates you.
If your application is denied for some reason, don’t think that you have come to the end of your road. Every year, for one reason or another, there are multiple successful applicants that aren’t able to attend.
When this happens, you could very well have the opportunity to fill the vacancy!

‘’Get to the point!’’ – Youth Time Team
The last piece of advice comes directly from us! Be clear and precise with what you are trying to say. Tell us who you are, why you want to come and what your goal is.
Try to refrain from using too many generalisations and ‘buzz words’ in your application; be as direct as possible. We’re all friends here, there’s no need to beat around the bush.
Good luck to you all and if you have any questions about the application call and/or the application form itself then you can email us.
