Young researchers and writers on migration are invited to enter a short essay competition – the five winners will have their essays published in the Mixed Migration Review 2021 and receive a prize of US$ 1,500 each.
The Mixed Migration Centre is a leading source for independent and high-quality data, information, research and analysis on mixed migration.
Through the provision of credible evidence and expertise, the MMC aims to support agencies, policy makers and practitioners to make well-informed decisions.
The winning essays will offer original analysis of mixed migration and related issues, from the global south, as well as the specific region where the authors are based.
The subject matter can relate to any aspect included in mixed migration such as: the politics or trends around migration or displacement; human smuggling or human trafficking; refugees and asylum issues; immobility; human mobility and climate change; migration myths, misconceptions or biases.
The deadline is on Monday 17th May 2021.
Main Criteria
To enter the competition applicants should send a short abstract of no more than 250 words outlining the content of their intended essay.
The abstract and the essay itself can be written in either French, Spanish or English.
