Senior Applied Fellowship Programme At CERN

University graduates with at least a MSc degree and four-to-ten year’s professional experience are invited to apply for the senior fellowship at CERN. Fellows will join a research group for six to 36 months. A monthly stipend of up to CHF 8,178 will be provided. The deadline is on Wednesday 1st September 2021.

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe.

As part of the fellowship, students are applying for a programme and not a specific job.

This programme is aimed at graduates from universities or higher technical institutes in a wide range of applied sciences, computing and engineering with between four and 10 years’ experience.

Senior fellowships are intended for MSc or PhD graduates looking to work in a research group.

CERN will provide you with an employment contract for between six months up to a maximum of 36 months. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend ranging from CHF 7,201 – CHF 8,178.

Additionally, health insurance, membership of the CERN Pension Fund, and travel grants are available.

The deadline is on Wednesday 1st September 2021.


Main Criteria

Applicants should provide a CV, the most recent relevant qualification, and three letters of recommendation.

Candidates should be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. A limited number of positions are also available to candidates from Non-Member States.

Applicants should have a PhD, or at least four years’ relevant experience since the completion of your MSc degree.
