Early career scientists are welcome to apply for the Rowland Fellowship in Energy Science & Engineering. The fellowship provides scientists with funding to establish an independent research program. This is an excellent opportunity to pursue new research ideas without the need for external funding, with full institutional support, access to the Institute’s outstanding technical and scientific resources, and an opportunity to work in the rich intellectual environment at Harvard. The deadline for submitting applications is on 18th August.
The number of Rowland Fellows will average two new appointments each year. The organizers seek the best young experimentalists in all areas of energy science and engineering. Fellows must have completed their doctoral degrees prior to starting their term. The anticipated start date is during the 2018 calendar year.
Main criteria
- Fellows must have completed their doctoral degrees prior to starting their term;
- Applicants should submit a one-page research proposal and a two-page curriculum vitae (CV);
- Candidates also should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent.
The base stipend for Rowland Fellows is $72,000 per annum with increases based on years of experience beyond the Ph.D.
