During this program, you’ll contribute to product innovation, risk management and control practices at JPMorgan Chase & Co in Shanghai or Beijing, China. By combining theory, practice and technology, you’ll gain insight into investment banking while launching a career in Quantitative Research.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is an American multinational investment bank and financial services holding company. Their mission is to develop and maintain sophisticated mathematical models to value and hedge financial transactions. You’ll have a project that will help develop your analytics and coding skills. The interns will learn the core fundamentals of financial engineering, derivatives modeling, and machine learning. Depending on your area of interest, Quantitative Analyst interns will be placed on one of the following teams:
Quantitative Research – develop and maintain sophisticated mathematical models, cutting-edge methodologies, and infrastructure to value and hedge financial transactions ranging from vanilla flow products to high and low-frequency trading algorithms.
Model Risk Governance & Review – work with model developers and the business to review and approve models for actual use and monitor performance for risk measurement.
Treasury and Chief Investment Office – conduct research and contribute to the development of analytics in various aspects of the management of the T/CIO investment portfolio.

Main criteria
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving and demonstrated research skills
- Mastery of advanced mathematics or the ability to programme using C++ or Python
- Knowledge of options pricing theory, trading algorithms or financial regulations
