Facebook offers opportunities to work with huge amounts of data each and every day. The company is looking for Data Engineer interns with the mindset to use a variety of tools and platforms to move Petabytes of data across systems and build the core tables needed to perform analysis. In this role, the work of an intern will broadly influence the company’s data consumers and analysts.
All successful candidates will get an opportunity to work with focused and scaled objectives in a company that has some of the most challenging problems to tackle.
The Enterprise Business Intelligence team of Facebook works very closely with all aspects of data, both internal and external.
Main criteria
- Candidates should be pursuing BS or higher degrees in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics;
- A successful candidate should have expertise with at least one programming language (preferably Python, Java, Perl, or PHP);
- Have a strong foundation in Database Systems, as well as strong analytical and communication skills;
- Interns must have at least one year of university to complete after the internship.
Interns will be paid approximately $6000. Responsibilities for interns will include opportunities to conceptualize, design, and develop data solutions to help product and business teams at Facebook make data-driven decisions, develop and implement data integration processes, and interface closely with data infrastructure and engineering teams to build and extend cross-platform ETL.
