Young people working in film, print, audio or multimedia are invited to apply for the One World Media Fellowship. 20 fellows will be selected, ten of which are based anywhere in the world, and the other ten fellows come from across Africa. Each fellow will receive a £1,000 production grant. The deadline is on Wednesday 7th April 2021.
One World Media Fellowship is aimed at aspiring journalists and filmmakers who seek to make a career out of reporting on stories from the global south.
Organisers will provide supportive network of mentors and peers through the production and completion of their project.
Proposed projects should seek to tell original stories in a way that will engage the intended audience.
Initiatives should demonstrate an understanding of accountability and fair practice in news gathering and reporting.
Fellows will receive a £1,000 production grant and the help of an executive producer for their project.
Additionally, participants will benefit from career mentorship, workshops and webinars and fair reporting and security guidance.
The deadline is on Wednesday 7th April 2021.
Main Criteria
Submissions from underrepresented groups (people of colour, ethnic groups, women, LGBTQ+, or people with disabilities) as well as from people from and based in the global south are particularly encouraged.
