The Media Technologies Research lab in Nokia Technologies develops differentiating technologies and system solutions for next-generation media experiences. In its Volumetric Video Coding team, they develop innovative technologies for volumetric media compression and transmission. The team focuses on key enablers for current technology megatrends, such as immersive media (AR, XR) and autonomous driving. As an intern your responsibilities will include researching and developing new technologies on compression and transmission of volumetric video content. You will collaborate with the team to transfer the developed technology to the relevant business units and publish quality research results This is a fixed term position until 30 April 2021.

Main criteria
- MSc degree in a relevant technical area
- At least two years of relevant work experience in algorithm development from idea to proof-of-concept and prototype phase
- Excellent programming and software development skills in C/C++ and Python
- Experience in video compression, computer graphics, and/or image processing
