Editors, designers, developers, social media managers, and media entrepreneurs are welcome to participate in News Impact Academy in Spain. This year the annual event focuses on how to develop a vision and strategy for innovation and discuss what success looks like. The deadline is on July 20th.
Organised by the European Journalism Centre, and powered by the Google News Initiative, the goal of the conference is to nurture leadership skills in digital innovators by connecting the with one another and giving them tools to scale their ideas.
Previous editions of the Academy have been held in Rome, Hamburg, Budapest, Manchester, and Brussels. The upcoming edition will take place on 25-26 September, 2018 in Barcelona. The main focus of the workshop is on Newsroom leadership. This edition focuses on how to develop a vision and strategy for innovation and discuss what success looks like.
The program offers hands-on sessions to learn how to apply user-centered methodologies in the newsroom, roundtables to define newsroom challenges, Ask Me Anything sessions, and networking events.
Selected participants will be able to attend the academy free of charge and the organisers will arrange and cover travel and accommodation.
Main criteria
- The Academy is aimed at digital editors, designers, product owners and developers, social media managers, and other media entrepreneurs;
- Participants will be selected based on their application.
