Researchers are looking for participants who are willing to take part in the bed rest study from September to December 2019 in Cologne, Germany and spend 60 days lying down. For full participation in the study, you will receive 16,500 euros.
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is researching how the body changes in weightlessness through bed rest. Blood tests, urine samples, hearing and eye tests – here you will be checked through from head to toe. Based on the study results, scientists are developing countermeasures that reduce the negative effects of weightlessness on astronauts.
Astronauts rehab including morning stretching, massages and after bed rest training with physiotherapists to make you fit for everyday life again. Cooking, washing clothes, shopping, working or studying – that’s why you do not have to worry about 89 days.
Main criteria
- Sufficient level of German is the main requirement;
- Successful participants are healthy non-smoking women between 24 and 55 years, height: 153 – 190 cm, BMI: 19 – 30 kg /m2
