Moth Magazine Short Story Contest

The Moth is an Irish magazine which encourages creativity and art. The Moth is now accepting entries for their short story prize competition. Any short story which is original and not published before is welcome. The deadline is on June 30, 2018.

Awards include €3,000 for the First Prize, a week-long writing retreat at Circle of Misse in France plus €250 travel stipend for the Second Prize, and €1,000 for the Third Prize.

Main criteria

  • Participation is open to anyone aged over 18;
  • Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published online or broadcast;
  • One can enter as many stories as s/he likes;
  • There is a word limit of 5,000 for the story;
  • The competition is open to anyone around the world.
