The Most Popular Teens In The World, Who Are They?

Teens nowadays command millions of fans on social networks, appear on most popular TV shows, write books, start companies and win Nobel Peace Prizes. However, some teens are above the rest. Time Magazine published a list of the most influential teenagers on Monday and included stars like Lorde and Malala.

This is the second time the publication presents the annual list, which is not made in the ranking format but takes into account the number of followers on social media, number of awards, business contracts, and others. Here are some of the most influential teens.

Kylie Jenner, 17 and Kendall Jenner, 18

Stars of the reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”, the sisters attended the red carpets of major events of the year, launched clothing and cosmetic brands and even published the fiction novel “Rebels: City of Indra.”

Lorde, 17

Born Ella Yelich-O’Connor in New Zealand, Lorde started off 2014 by receiving two Grammy Awards for her hit “Royals”. Since then she became a force on the pop scene and signed on to curate the “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” soundtrack.

Cloë Grace Moretz, 17

She was the lead in last summer’s movie “If I Stay”, based on a novel of the same name, which earned $47.6 million and also starred in a thriller “The Equalizer” opposite Denzel Washington.

Jaden Smith, 17

He was known for his appearances with his father, Will Smith, in films such as ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ (2006) and ‘After Earth’ (2013). But the boy ended up winning recognition, in fact, thanks to his Twitter account, which has more than 5.3 million followers.

Austin Mahone, 17

It’s not only comparisons with Justin Bieber that the young Austin Mahone lives off of. In 2014, the singer became the first to lead the new ranking of the Trending 140 billboard, which measures the most performed and shared music online.

Malala Yousafzai, 17

The Pakistani youth activist became known worldwide two years and one day after being shot in the head by Taliban gunmen. She became the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and started promoting girls’ education, helping Syrian refugee children and demanding the return of the Nigerian girls kidnapped by Boko Haram.

Rico Rodriguez, 16

The child star of the series “Modern Family” is not only one of the most popular teens on TV, but also one of the highest paid. The 16 year old should earn about $115,000 per episode if the series – currently in the sixth season – continue until season eight.

Nash Grier, 16

Self-proclaimed “King of the Vine,” Nash Grier has 9.7 million followers on this social network, thanks to the success of his short humorous videos. His success earned him advertising contracts, one of them with the Aquafina FlavorSplash drink brand.
