The aim of the MEDEA Awards is to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of media in education. The awards also recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning and teaching materials, resources, tools, processes and services. The deadline is on 31 January 2020.
Win MEDEA Awards
MEDEA Awards: All shortlisted finalists will be notified in early April 2020 and will be invited to take part in the Awards Ceremony taking place during the Media & Learning Conference on 17 and 18 June 2020, where the final winners will be announced.
The MEDEA Award for Best Educational Media will be awarded to the best professional or user-generated educational media product, resource, tool or service submitted aimed at learners in the higher education, continuing education and/or training sector.
The Special MEDEA Jury Prize The judges may be awarded in recognition of exceptional innovation in pedagogic or technical design.
Main criteria
The judges who evaluate entries to the MEDEA Awards recognise the primary role of effective and innovative educational design in the use of media with learners.
This means that they will be looking first and foremost for materials and approaches that demonstrate original and successful use of media with learners to achieve clearly defined educational goals, methods and outcomes under these criteria:
- Pedagogical quality
- Use of media
- Degree of innovation
- Aesthetic quality
- Usability and Technical quality
