International BS/BSc and MS students are invited for a fully funded two-week Applied Mathematics workshop on 25 August – 8 September 2019 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The deadline is on 15 June 2019.
The Summer School will comprise of two weeks academic research and a lively social programe at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The course includes seminars and lab work and successful students on the program will attempt to produce a collaborative research paper.
Finalists will be exposed to several aspects of Applied Mathematics, including homogenization, numerics for partial differential equations and mean field games. The course includes lectures and lab work and students on the program will attempt to produce a collaborative research paper.
Workshop benefits include a $500 stipend, round-trip airfare to/from city of departure-Jeddah (KAUST), health insurance, accommodation, visa fees, and access to community recreational resources.
Main criteria
- Students who have completed a minimum of their 3rd-year of baccalaureate studies or completed their Bachelor’s degree be pursuing a post- baccalaureate (Master’s degree) are eligible.
- Recommended levels of English proficiency are TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT or 6.0 on the IELTS.
- Along with the online application, candidates are required to submit an official academic transcript, personal statement of intent, and letter of recommendation from current or previous faculty advisor.
