Internship at International Center for Journalism

ICFJ is looking for a committed and talented intern to join the communications team on a paid remote internship. This part-time opportunity is perfect for a self-starter who wants to advance journalism and further develop understanding of digital media. Application process is ongoing.

International Center for Journalists is a non-profit, professional organization located in Washington, D.C., United States, that promotes journalism worldwide. They empower a global network of journalists to produce news reports that lead to better governments, stronger economies, more vibrant societies and healthier lives.

Intern’s responsibilities will include developing written, visual and video content, contributing to the maintenance of ICFJ’s website, providing support for ICFJ events and other administrative tasks. The internship, which will be conducted remotely due to the COVID-19 outbreak, requires a time commitment of 21 to 35 hours a week starting in August/September to last through December 2020.  Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, a social media graphic, and a writing sample.  Good writing skills and experience with social media are required. An interest in journalism and/or international affairs is strongly suggested.

Main criteria

  • Intern must be current students or recent graduates of marketing, communications, journalism and design majors
  • Experience with video editing and video editing software and strong attention to detail are required
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills and experience in photography are preferred
