International Video Competition: “My City, Our World Heritage”

The Organization of World Heritage Cities inviting young people up to 21 years old to participate in the International Video Production Competition entitled “My City: Our World Heritage”. The competition is intended for young people from all over the world. Deadline to apply is June 16th.

The young people are called to produce a video of a maximum duration of five minutes on the World Heritage City in which they live, and to publish it on YouTube. Once published on YouTube, the videos produced by the young people will undergo a selection in their respective cities. Each city will choose a winning video for each of the participating age groups: those between 14 and 17 years old and those between 18 and 21 years old.

The videos must present visual elements of the city; do not overload them with text. However, sound effects, music (with lyrics or not), and a narrator (without exaggeration) are allowed. Videos made with a camcorder, a camera, a computer, or a cellphone are eligible.

Main criteria

  • Young people of two age groups: 14-17 years old and 18-21 years old. The OWHC may request proof of identity from local award-winners;
  • Teams of young people are accepted.

The OWHC will invite the mayors of the two young prize winners to officially present the winning video in their municipality, the videos  will also be broadcast officially at the OWHC World Congress in Gyeongju (Republic of Korea) that will take place from 31 October to 3 November 2017. 

More than that,  representative of the OWHC will be pleased to award the winners with the international prize, namely the sum of:

  • 1000 USD for the winner of the 14-17 years old category;

  • 2000 USD for the winner of the 18-21 years old category.
