International Student Conference (ISC) In Japan

The International Student Conference (ISC) is inviting young people to apply for its annual program. The theme of this year’s conference is “Endeavors in Diversity” with six theme topics including issues on climate change, gender inequality, peace, capitalism, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and International Relations. The application process consists of two rounds and includes submitting candidates’ applications by April 25 with interviews to be held in the period between April 24 and May 15.

Since it was founded in 1954, the International Student Conference (ISC) has met annually to work towards achieving world peace. The ISC is not only a great opportunity to share your innovative ideas but also a platform where you can be heard. This year, young people from all over the world will come together in Japan on August 16-19 to participate in the ISC’s various sessions, discussions, and cultural events.

Main criteria:

  • Candidates must be undergraduate or graduate students currently involved in a club or an NGO;
  • One of the main requirements for candidates is the ability to commit to all stages of preconference preparation online;
  • The official language of the conference is English; and, for this reason, candidates should demonstrate a level of English proficiency that will allow them to be fully involved in discussions;
  • The application form includes a motivation letter, the applicant’s written ideas on two of the conference topics, and a certified copy of the candidate’s academic transcript.

Participation fee is 20,000 JPY (approx. 174 USD). It will cover program, accommodation, food, and transportation expenses during Advanced Study Tour and Main Conference. Flight tickets and any other things you will personally need will be at your own expense.
