International Council for Science Communications Intern for The LIRA 2030 Programme 2018

The International Council for Science (ICSU) is recruiting a Communications intern to support the LIRA 2030 programme. The intern will be contributing to the Leading Integrated Research for Agenda 2030 in Africa. The training for interns will be held in Côte d'Ivoire. There is no deadline for this position. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

The programme, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), seeks to develop the potential of next-generation scientists in Africa, in the production and communication of policy-relevant knowledge in the domain of sustainable urban development.

The programme provides two-year collaborative research grants to develop new approaches in implementation of the SDG 11.  The key responsibilities of the intern would include development and publication of engaging content about projects on sustainable urban development across Africa.

Interns will receive monthly renumeration and lunch vouchers. The job is full-time (35 hours), although some remote working is possible.

Main criteria

  • Applicants must currently be enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in any relevant discipline, preferably with an international focus;
  • EU citizenship or a valid French carte de séjour étudiant;
  • Experience in writing about scientific topics, and excellent writing skills in English are required.
