Interdisciplinary Conservation Network Workshop

PhD students are invited to take part in a bi-annual conservation science workshop. The Interdisciplinary Conservation Network provides a select group of early-career researchers with an opportunity to produce a collaborative piece of research and take part in skill-building sessions. The deadline is 12 August 2020.

The workshop is organized by the University of Oxford’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science and Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, and the Oxford Brookes University Wildlife Trade Research Group.

Interdisciplinary Conservation Network workshop consists of an eight-month online collaboration followed by a three-day in-person event on 7-9 April 2021 in Oxford, United Kingdom. The workshop’s primary goal is to support attendees in carrying out their research in conservation, online wildlife trade, and illegal wildlife trade and human-felid conflict. During the in-person event, non-Oxford based attendees will be provided with accommodation and catering. Attendees who have scholarships or other funding will be asked to contribute £70 to support the event. Up to six total bursaries will be available to support travel expenses for international attendees.

The deadline is 12 August 2020.

Main criteria

  • The workshop is open to PhD students and early-career researchers with postdoc or equivalent working experience
  • Applicants should demonstrate interest in collaborating and networking with others in conservation science
