The International Labor Organization is calling on individuals and organizations to share innovative ideas and solutions to address the skills mismatch challenge. The winner will receive a $50,000 grant and technical support to implement the proposed solution. Six-month innovation lab for the winning projects will include boot camps and remote mentoring to transform the idea into a prototype.

The ILO Skills Challenge is a UN agency that since 1919 brings together governments, employers and workers of 187 member states. The aim of the organization is to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programs promoting decent work for all women and men.
Proposals can include ideas on enhancing the effectiveness of vocational education, innovative work-based learning initiatives, and empowering enterprises to better utilise the skills of their workers.
Projects aimed at improving the collection and use of data skill needs, training of underrepresented groups and establishing new partnerships are also encouraged. The best 10 ideas will be invited to join the ILO Skills Innovators Network.
The deadline is on 30 April 2020.
Main criteria
This application is open to individuals or formally constituted organizations that must have existed for at least two years before April 13, 2020. The organizations can include cooperatives, educational institutions, government agencies, NGOs, Civil Society, regional and sectoral bodies, public and private enterprises, and research institutions.
The above bodies or individuals can present ideas and solutions at any development stage, including an early stage or a more mature innovation. Applications and supporting documents can be submitted in English, French, and Spanish.
