How the World news would sound if they were songs? Last week, the British newspaper Guardian started an intriguing project and Will Butler was there to implement it.
You take 5 days a week and 5 news stories and there you go: you end up with 5 new songs written by the famous Arcade’s Fire member Will Butler. While waiting for his debut solo album to be released this month, Butler moves from a “Clean Monday” to the “Waters of Babylon”.
For example, wasn’t all Europe speculating about Greece’s future the last few weeks? Arcade’s Fire composer seems to share this opinion. On Monday 23 he was reading the Guardian’s live coverage of the forthcoming Greek economic proposals. Greek debt crisis became the inspiration for his first song “Clean Monday”.
