Organisations from developing countries are invited to apply for the Global South COVID-19 Digital Innovation Challenge. Participants will attend a virtual bootcamp and receive up to $25,000 in funding to implement their solutions to the effects of the pandemic. The deadline is on Thursday 15th July 2021.
The Global South COVID-19 Digital Innovation Challenge is co-organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC).
The challenge aims to build a network of champions in developing-country ecosystems to accelerate the response to the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Only legally registered organisations/institutions from developing countries are eligible to participate in this challenge. The challenge is open to governments, intergovernmental organisations, NGOs, private sector and start-ups, research institutions, academia, and civil society organisation (CSOs).
Selected participants will attend a virtual boot camp to further refine their plans and their milestones (e.g. market entry, deployment, impact traction). They will be provided with seed funding up to $25,000 to implement/improve/scale up their proposed solution(s), with mentorship and training support.
The deadline is on Thursday 15th July 2021.
Main Criteria
Applying organisations should demonstrate a digital solution that promotes South-South cooperation and demonstrates a new innovative project/prototype, outlining its potential for scaling up through South-South cooperation.
All submissions must be made in the English language only. Applying organisations/institutions will be required to submit proof of their legal registration.
