International students pursuing their studies in the US or Canada are invited to apply for an annual Global Citizenship Scholarship that amounts to $5,000. As part of the application, candidates are asked to respond to a series of questions in any format including an essay, a presentation, a poem, etc. The deadline is on Tuesday 20th July 2021.
MPOWER Financing is a public benefit corporation whose mission is to reduce the financial barriers to international education. It is based in Washington, DC, with offices in New York and Bangalore, India.
It was founded by Manu Smadja and Michael Davis in 2014, both of whom attended INSEAD Paris where they met.
As part of the application, candidates should respond to the following topics:
- How have you already made an impact on your home (or adopted) country or the broader international or scientific community?
- How will you continue to do so after your education is completed?
- How will your education directly contribute to your ability to reach these goals?
Scholarships awarded annually to international and DACA students enrolled at Universities MPOWER supports. The grand prize amounts to $5,000 while two honourable mentions are valued at $1,000 each.
The deadline is on Tuesday 20th July 2021.
Main Criteria
International students currently enrolled in a full-time degree programme at a US or Canadian school are invited to apply. Applicants should have a valid visa that permits study in either country.
This scholarship is specifically designed for international and DACA students. Therefore, US citizens wishing to study in the US and Canadian citizens wishing to study in Canada are not eligible for this scholarship.
